Compact 3-DOF Automation for Precision Lab Tasks
The igus SCARA RL-A9.0216 is a compact 3-axis robot designed for precision tasks in laboratory and small-scale automation environments. With a payload capacity of 0.5 kg, a horizontal reach of 400 mm, and a vertical stroke of 360 mm, it achieves cycle times of over 6 picks per minute. Built from tribologically optimized plastics, it offers long service life, low maintenance, and significant cost savings.
Control is provided via the optional igus® Robot Control, available as a control cabinet or DIN rail version. The free software enables intuitive programming and integration with various systems such as Modbus TCP/IT, ROS, Python, and more – ensuring fast commissioning. Alternatively, each axis can be controlled individually using igus® dryve D1 motor controllers, making it ideal for flexible control architectures.
Ideal for pick-and-place operations, sample handling, and educational setups, the RL-A9.0216 integrates seamlessly into modular automation systems. Its lightweight design and open control options make it perfect for scalable lab automation and prototyping environments.
